TREC's Individual Trauma-Resilient Professional Certification is an asynchronous, self-paced program that consists of 3 courses with the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The Trauma-Resilient Educational Communities (TREC) Organizational Accreditation is a comprehensive process that exemplifies values-based transformation both individually and organizationally fostering common shared language and understanding on the impact of trauma and building resilience through equity-focused, healing-centered, and trauma-resilient systems change. This 18–24-month program includes six professional development sessions, professional well-being surveys, the launch of resiliency program(s), a needs and strengths assessment, the establishment of a TREC work group, a self-study, and the creation of a sustainability action plan.
The program is designed for individual-helping professionals, such as educators, counselors, therapists, and social workers, who want to develop an understanding on the impact of trauma both individually and on those they serve, build resilience through equity-focused and healing-centered practices, and build meaningful trusted-relationships with those they serve. It is ideal for those who want to improve their understanding of trauma and its effects, as well as develop practical strategies for coping with and healing from trauma.
The program covers three courses, including:
TREC 101 - Foundations of PACEs Science and Trauma-Resilient Practices
TREC 201 - Building Resilient Communities: Self-Care and Mindfulness for Individual and Collective Well-Being
TREC 301 - Equity, Inclusion and Cultural Humility, and Relationships and Restorative Justice practices.
